I am very excited to introduce to you, Shelby Sebens! Shelby will be a regular contributor to The Bill Post Radio Show starting today. She is a journalist with Northwest Watchdog part of Watchdog.org a great source for solid and accurate news. As you’ll see below, she’s not new to news journalism, just sort of new to the Northwest and I think she does some great stories that I have shamelessly stolen from her (and given credit) over the last few months. By the way, this is her latest story on the Columbia River Crossing.
Here’s a little bit about Shelby:
Shelby Sebens is an award-winning journalist with more than seven years of professional journalism experience. She became the bureau chief for Northwest Watchdog in August for Watchdog.org.
Before that, Shelby spent five years as a reporter for a medium sized daily newspaper, the StarNews, in Wilmington, N.C. Here she covered city hall and as an investigative reporter uncovered decades of corruption and criminal behavior surrounding North Carolina’s longest serving state lawmaker. She has won state and national awards, including a N.C. Press Association public service award for the aforementioned investigation.
Shelby hails from Illinois where she received her master’s degree in Public Affairs Reporting at the University of Illinois at Springfield and her bachelor’s in mass communication at Illinois State University. She also worked as a city hall reporter for a small daily in LaSalle, Ill., the News Tribune, before moving to North Carolina.
Shelby will be on the show today at 2:06 and we look forward to a long relationship as she reports the news of the Northwest to our listeners. Thank you Shelby!
